Description Synthetic peptides, 16 aa, near the N-terminus of rat Orexin 1 Receptor (Hypocretin 1 Receptor). Several peptides associated with feeding behavior have been reported recently. Orexins (Orexin A and Orexin B) are a family of hypothalamic neuropeptides selectively expressed in the hypothalamus and are derived from the same precursor (Prepro-orexin) by proteolytic cleavage. Prepro-orexin is 130 amino acid long peptide with a putative 33 AA secretory sequence, a hydrophobic core followed by residues with small polar side chains. The expression was detected in brain and to a small extent in testis. These neuropeptides bind and activate two closely related Orexin receptors—G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs). Rat and human Orexin 1Receptor (Hypocretin 1 Receptor) are 416 aa, and 425aa, respectively. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA or antibody blocking to confirm antibody specificity. Not suitable for Western Blot due to low MW (<3kD). Other applications not tested. Reccommended Dilutions: ELISA: Coat with 50-100ng Control Peptide/well Antibody blocking: Use 5-10ug per 1ug of O7503-05 affinity purifiedor 1ul of O7503 Serum Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
