| Description | Control peptide for corresponding antibody O7900. Synthetic peptide CKTSETVPRPA (linear) conjugated to KLH. 100% homology between rat, mouse and human. ORL1 shares functional and structural homology to the opioid receptor system, but does not interact directly with classical opioid receptors or ligands. Rather, it appears to be the endogenous receptor for nociceptin/Orphanin FQ. This peptide binds the receptor with very high affinity. Activation of ORL1 receptors is functionally complex. For example, depending on its site of activation in the pain pathway, ORL1 has opposing actions, where it appears to have potent anti-analgesic actions supraspinally and analgesic actions spinally. In addition to its involvement in sensory perception, ORL1 has also been shown to play a role in memory processes and emotional behavior. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute to nominal volume (see reconstitution instructions for peptides) and store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. . | ||
