| Description | FTO (Fat mass-and obesity-associated gene) is the responsible gene for mouse ‘fused toes’ mutation. An association between FTO genotype and type 2 diabetes has been confirmed. The presence of the FTO rs9939609 A-allele was found to be positively correlated with other symptoms of the metabolic syndrome, including higher fasting insulin, glucose, triglycerides, and lower HDL-cholesterol. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa2-505 of human FTO, fused to His-tag at N-terminal expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~65kD Endotoxin: <1EU/ug (LAL method) Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | ||
