Description			Control Peptide for P3341-02. Perilipin is a protein produced and secreted by adipose cells. This protein is localized exclusively to the surface of lipid droplets. In response to lypotic stimuli, perilipin is phosphorylated by protein kinase A. Once activated, perilipin has inhibitory effects on hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL), a protein that mediates the hydrolysis of triacylglycerol, the major form of stored energy in the body. Perilipin expression is limited to adipocytes and steroidogenic cells. Source: Synthetic peptide surrounding amino acid 510 of mouse Perilipin A. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: blocks the antibody activity completely by incubating the peptide with equal volume of antibody for 30-60 minutes at 37°C. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
