Description			TIMP-1 is an inducible glycoprotein, which is synthesized by many different cell types. TIMP-1 binds in a reversible fashion to matrix metalloproteinases, with regions in the N-terminal domain binding to the MMP substrate-binding site. TIMP-1 also functions as erthyroid-potentiating activity via translocation to the nucleus and also in inhibiting apoptosis in B-cells. Source: Recombinant corresponding to aa24-207 from human TIMP-1, fused to 6x His-tag at N-terminal, expressed in E. coli. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot as a control. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
