Description CLEC5A, also known as C-type lectin domain family 5 member A isoform 1, is a member of the CTL/CTLD superfamily that have diverse functions, such as cell adhesion, cell-cell signalling, glycoprotein turnover, and roles in inflammation and immune response. It functions as a cell attachment receptor for all four serotypes of Dengue virus as well as Japanese encephalitis virus. The binding of dengue virus to CLEC5A triggers signaling through the phosphylation of TYROBP, this interaction does not result in viral entry, but stimulates proinflammatory cytokine release. This protein acts as a positive regulator of osteoclastogenesis and a key regulator of synovial injury and bone erosion during autoimmune joint inflammation. Description: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa28-188 of human CLEC5A, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, expressed in Baculovirus.
