Description Lgals4, also known as galectin4, belongs to a subfamily of galectins composed of two carbohydrate recognition domains within the same peptide chain. The galectins are a family of beta-galactoside-binding proteins implicated in modulating cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, which inhibits chronic inflammations, GVHD, and allergic reactions. The expression of this gene is restricted to small intestine, colon, and rectum, and it is underexpressed in colorectal cancer. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-326 from mouse Lgals4, fused to His-tag at N-terminal expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~38.8kD (349aa) Biological Activity: Measured by its ability to agglutinate human red blood cells, the ED50 for this effect is equal or less than 5ug/ml. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
