| Description | Gram-negative pleomorphic cells, spherical to ovoid shaped, single tripled-layered membrane, but lacking true cell wall. Causes lower respiratory infections; less often a pharyngitis progressing to bronchitis or pneumoniae; gradual onset with headache, malaise, paroxysmal cough, substernal pain; leucocytosis in some cases. Duration varies from a few days to a month or more. Low fatality. Source: Mycoplasma pneumoniae, strain FH, from Broth base medium Applications: Suitable for use in both IgG and IgM detection in assays which include EIA with polystyrene and latex solid phases. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Inactivation: Detergent inactivation by lysis. Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | ||
