Description | Acute HIV-1 infection presents in the majority of cases as a transient symptomatic flu-like illness, associated with high levels of HIV-1 replication and a virus-specific immune response. It therefore important to make a diagnosis in cases of fever of unknown origin. There are no HIV-1-specific antibodies detectable at this early stage of infection and the diagnosis therefore requires specific laboratory tests for the detection of HIV-1 antigen. This protein binds to murine monoclonal antibodies of defined epitope specificity and HIV-1 converted human serum polyclonal antibodies in ELISA and Western Blot. Source: E.coli Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, and Lateral Flow. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
