| Description | Neisseria gonorrhoeae is a nonmotile, Gramnegative aerobic coccus with a typical outer membrane composed of proteins, phospholipids and lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Neisserial lipopolysaccharide has a highly branched basal oligosaccharide structure and no repeating Oantigen subunits, also referred to as lipooligosaccharide (LOS). Neisseria gonorrhoeae is responsible for the sexually transmitted infection gonorrhoea, a type of urethritis. The infection is characterised by a purulent discharge, but asymptomatic infection is a major problem. Neisseria gonorrhoeae could also cause conjunctivitis, pharyngitis or proctitis. The infection can be treated with antibiotic effective against resistant strains. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and freeze at -70°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | ||
