Description | Gsta1 also known as Glutathione S-transferase, A1, belongs to a glutathione S-transferase alpha class and is the most abundantly expressed in liver. This protein functions in the detoxification of electrophilic compounds, including carcinogens, therapeutic drugs, environmental toxins and products of oxidative stress, by conjugation with glutathione. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-223 of mouse Gsta1, fused to His-tag at N-terminal expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~28kD Specific Activity: ~4000pmol/min/ug Unit Definition: The amount of enzyme that conjugate 1pmole of 1-chloro-2,4-dinitrobenzene (CDNB) with reduced glutathione/minute at pH 6.5 at 25°C. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
