Description | Cytoplasmic maltose-binding protein, also known as MBP, is a protein related with the maltose/maltodextrin system of Escherichia coli, which is responsible for the uptake and efficient catabolism of maltodextrins. It is a complex regulatory and transport system involving many proteins and protein complexes. MBP has been used to increase the yield of its fusion partner in many cases. In addition, MBP is often able to promote the solubility of polypeptides to which it is fused. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to E.coli MBP, fused to His-tag at N-terminal expressed in E.coli.
